How to use StreamNexa

StreamNexa is one platform with two modules, and it runs in your browser: nothing to download. On-Stream Ads puts your own products on stream, with a QR code and a link viewers can tap. Viewer Matchmaking lets viewers queue to play with you, or against you. This page covers installing it, how it works, and setting up each module, start to finish.

How it works

StreamNexa has four parts. You only ever work in the first one; the rest run by themselves once they're set up.

  1. The StreamNexa app, at app.stream-cut.com/streamnexa. Your control room: you add ads, run campaigns, open the queue and let players in. Use it in a browser tab, or install it so it has its own icon and window. While you're live, its Live controls window sits beside OBS.
  2. The ad player in OBS. A link you add to OBS once, as a Browser Source. Your ads play in a corner of your stream through it, with a QR code to the product. It follows what you do in the app: pause, skip, show now.
  3. Your audience page, stream-cut.com/r/yourname. What viewers open on their phone: the product you're showing as a real button they can tap, and Ask to play to join your queue.
  4. StreamNexa's server. It holds your ads, runs the queue, decides which ad is on screen and who gets your lobby code, and counts shows and taps. Because everything is kept there, you can sign in on any computer or phone and find it all as you left it.

It works alongside OBS on Twitch, YouTube and Kick. You don't need Stream-Cut Studio (Studio has both modules built in, if you use it).

Install StreamNexa

StreamNexa is a web app: a website your browser can install like a program. Installing gives it its own icon (on your desktop, taskbar, Dock or home screen) and its own window, without an address bar or tabs. Nothing else is put on your computer: there's no setup file to run, it's the same account and the same data as in a tab, and you can use it without installing at all.

First open app.stream-cut.com/streamnexa (check the address: that's the only place StreamNexa lives). Then:

OnDo this
Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera
Windows, Mac, Linux
Sign in, then click Install the app at the bottom of the menu on the left, and Install. Or click the install icon at the right end of the address bar. In Edge it's also under ⋯ → Apps → Install this site as an app.
Safari
Mac (macOS Sonoma or later)
File → Add to Dock, then Add.
iPhone or iPad
Safari
Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Android
Chrome
Tap ⋮, then Install app (on some phones Add to Home screen), then Install.
Firefox Firefox doesn't install web apps. Use StreamNexa in a tab: everything works the same. Bookmark the page to get back quickly.

Once installed, open StreamNexa from its icon like any other app. Good to know:

Get started

You need a browser, OBS, and a Stream-Cut account (create one in StreamNexa: one account covers both modules).

  1. Open StreamNexa at app.stream-cut.com/streamnexa, and install it if you like.
  2. Create your account. Click New here? Create an account, enter your email and a password of at least 10 characters, and tick the box to agree to the Terms, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. Already have a Stream-Cut account? Just sign in with it.
  3. Confirm your email. Click the link in the email Confirm your email for StreamNexa (look in spam too). Nothing arrived? Send it again is on StreamNexa's Overview.
  4. Choose a plan. Open Billing & Plans and pick On-Stream Ads, Viewer Matchmaking, or both ($9.99 a month each, or $19.98 for StreamNexa Complete). Your first plan starts with a 24-hour free trial: your card is taken at checkout (by Paddle, in a new tab), and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Come back to StreamNexa afterwards: the module unlocks within a few seconds.
  5. Set up your modules, below.

On-Stream Ads

Your product videos play in a corner of your stream. Viewers buy by scanning the QR code on the ad, by tapping the product on your audience page, or, on Twitch and Kick, by clicking the link in your chat.

  1. Add an ad. In the dashboard, open On-Stream Ads and fill in Add an ad: the product name, the price (optional), the Link viewers go to, what the button says, and the label on the ad (Ad, My shop, Affiliate…). Choose a vertical (9:16) video shorter than 60 seconds, MP4 (H.264) or WebM, up to 100 MB, and click Upload and add. It's ready to show once it says Ready.
  2. Add the player to OBS. Under Add the player to OBS, click Make the player link, then Copy link. In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste the link as the URL, and set the width and height to your canvas (Settings → Video → Base resolution). Keep it at the top of the source list, in every scene you stream from.
  3. Choose how ads play. Under How ads play, pick Automatic rotation with a gap between ads, or Manual to show one only when you press Show now. Set the corner and the size.
  4. Group them into campaigns (optional). Create a campaign, put ads in it, and choose which campaign runs. Only the running campaign's ads rotate.
  5. Share your audience page. It's printed on the ad itself (or tap: stream-cut.com/r/yourname). Put it in your chat, stream title or panels. There, the product is a real button viewers can tap.
  6. Post the link in chat (optional, Twitch and Kick). Under Links in chat, connect your channel. When an ad comes on, its link is posted in your chat from your own account: at most once every 3 minutes, and the same product at most once every 15.

While you're live, Live controls (in the menu, under While you're live) opens a small window to keep beside OBS. It shows what's on screen, with Pause, Skip and Hide one click away. Analytics shows how many times each ad and campaign was shown and tapped.

Viewer Matchmaking

Viewers ask to play from their phone and wait in line. You choose who gets in, and only they get your lobby code. It works with any game that has an invite: a party code, a link, a server address, a friend request, a browser room or Steam Remote Play Together.

  1. Start a session. In the dashboard, open Viewer Matchmaking, fill in the game, the mode and Players in at once, and click Start session.
  2. Make your lobby in the game, then paste its code or invite link into Your lobby code or invite link, choose How they get in with it, and click Open the queue.
  3. Share your audience page (it's shown on the Viewer Matchmaking page). Viewers tap Ask to play, type their name in the game, and see their place in line.
  4. Let players in. Click Let in next to a name: that viewer is Ready and sees your code on their phone. Or tick Let the next ones in automatically, up to your player limit. Pause new requests and Ban work at any time.
  5. Run the match. When they're in your lobby, click Start match: they're In Match. When it's over, click Finish match: they're Completed, and their places free up for the next ones.
  6. End the session when you're done. Every session is kept under Past sessions, with who asked, who got in and how many matches you played.

StreamNexa decides who gets your code; it can't put anyone into a game. If you need to remove someone, do it in the game's lobby too.

Questions

Why can't viewers click the ad on my stream?

On Twitch, YouTube, Kick and TikTok, your stream is a video, so everything on it is pixels. That's why the ad carries a QR code, why the same product is a real button on your audience page, and why, on Twitch and Kick, the link can go in your chat.

Does it work on YouTube?

Yes. The ad, the QR code and your audience page work on any platform. Links in chat are Twitch and Kick only for now.

How does the free trial work?

One 24-hour trial per customer and per computer, on your first plan. Nothing is charged until it ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing. Adding the second module later is charged straight away. Each module cancels on its own.

Do I have to install it?

No. Installing only gives StreamNexa its own icon and window. In a browser tab it does exactly the same, with the same account. See Install StreamNexa.

Is installing it safe?

Yes. Installing a web app doesn't run a setup file or add anything to your system: your browser keeps it like a bookmark that opens in its own window, and you can uninstall it in two clicks. Only install it from app.stream-cut.com.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, to check on things or run the queue from your phone. Setting up ads (uploading videos, adding the player to OBS) is easiest on the computer you stream from.
